Behind the scenes at Chloe Sevigny's Miu Miu campaign

Miu Miu's autumn/winter 2012 collection was fun with a capital F, so who more appropriate to star as the face of the season than kooky actress, and fashion world favourite, Chloë Sevigny.

Sevigny variously snarls, sips tea and eats cake in this short film, interspersed with shots of her posing on a fluffy, white shagpile carpet in Miu Miu's psychedelic Seventies-inspired collection.

The perfect mix of tomboy attitude and feminine charm, we want to be Chloë in this film so bad - not least so we can be the mistress of this particularly delectable wardrobe.

Enjoy…

When Hollywood teen Hailee Steinfeld was announced as the new face of Miu Miu last year - aged just 14 - many a set of eyebrows were raised. Although the Oscar-nominated actress's campaign depicted her eating pizza and lying on a stack of glittery heels, certain images were deemed inappropriate - not to mention the bafflement of using someone so young to promote a luxury brand.

Hot on Hailee's heels in the new generation of red carpet newcomers was Chloe Moretz - the 500 Days of Summer star partial to a Stella McCartney, Chanel or Dolce & Gabbana frock. Moretz was announced as Italian label MaxMara's 'Face of the Future', and then all went quiet. Until now.

Moretz, now 15, has been signed up as the face of American casualwear retailer Aéropostale. Specialising in selling basics to style-conscious teenagers across shopping malls in the US, the brand couldn't be further from the glitz and glamour of the red carpet. Chloe, who is currently filming a remake of horror novel Carrie , will appear in advertising campaigns, curate looks online and tweet about the brand.

"She's extremely interested in fashion" a spokesperson for the retailer told WWD . "She sits in the front row at all high-end fashion shows. She'll judge contests for us and be the spokesperson for our Teens for Jeans campaign."

The level-headed teen is the first to voice how she considers herself too young to 'do a Steinfeld'. "I am only 15," she recently told Stylelist . "If I do one now, then what am I going to do when I'm 20. I'm still pretty new to all of this, and I don't want to pile everything in the first few years. I want something to look forward to."

The 37-year-old actress has been revealed as the face of Miu Miu's autumn/winter 2012 campaign, succeeding fellow actress Mia Wasikowska in the role.

It's not the first time Sevigny has represented the brand - she appeared in the campaign for their spring/summer 1996 collection, which was shot by Jeurgen Teller.

This time, she has been captured by fashion's favourite photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot for "a gallery of portraits with a seductive, provocative attitude", says Miu Miu.

Wearing pieces from Miu Miu's printed trouser-suit heavy autumn/winter collection, Sevigny becomes the leading character in a "kaleidoscopic visual collage, where masculine and feminine blur in a dandy-like fantasy conveying a refreshing eccentricity". Perched on chair holding a floral teacup she looks set for the Mad Hatter's tea party.

The label - which is the sister line of super-brand Prada - often turns to actresses to fulfil the role of seasonal muse. Past spokesmodels have included Hailee Steinfeld, Selma Blair, Evan Rachel Wood, Kirsten Dunst and Katie Holmes.

Known for both her eclectic style and choice of roles, Sevigny recently starred in British series TV series Hit and Miss as a pre-op transsexual contract killer.
