Lanvin's Fall Campaign: No Models, No Problem

Lanvin models strut the runway in creations designed by Alber Elbaz during the men's spring-summer 2013 fashion collection show.

It looks like American Apparel isn't the only retailer featuring nonfashion folks in their fall campaign.

Lanvin's creative director, Alber Elbaz, has also cast real women and men, ranging in age from 18 to 82.

“I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes,” Elbaz  told WWD.

When they aren't posing for the camera, Lanvin's cast of non-models have regular careers. One's a waiter, and one's a milliner.  The campaign's most senior model was even a former Apollo Theater dancer.

By the looks of a few preview shots, it doesn't seem like Elbaz sacrificed any glamour by ditching the professionals.

The campaign makes its magazine debut in September issues, and an accompanying video with behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot will launch August 21.
